Description: This presentation will provide a step-by-step overview of the evolution of UPS’ behavioral based safety approach: the Safe Work Method (SWM) Observation and Feedback Process. Developing and strategically planning to implement this observation process to over 400,000 employees globally has been and will continue to be a mammoth undertaking. Lessons learned from this iterative approach are applicable to organizational performance management on any scale. Best practices on strategy development, observation training, observation tools and process measurement methodology will be shared. Attendees will gain insight into the incremental successes possible, and barriers to them that need to be overcome to sustain continuous performance improvement.
