Description: This presentation proposes a background for the determination of weighting factors in a new statistical measure for the traditional OSHA incident rate. Severities of recordable incidents were determined and weighting factors were applied. Lost work day rate, the least influenced by opinion, was used as a basis for these weighting factors.
