Prevention through Design concepts must be inclusive of the known gender- and age-based differences in worker injuries, extending beyond ergonomic and human factors. Gender differences in biomechanical injury tolerances and kinematics will be analyzed relative to specific implications for engineering design, industrial practice and public policy.
