640 Personal Protective Grounding of High Voltage Equipment

Instructor: John J. Kolak, CSP, WSOCSM, Praxis Corporation, Cotopaxi, CO

Description: Proper installation of personal protective grounds (PPG) on high voltage (>,1000 volt) equipment is critically-important for protecting electrical workers but is widely misunderstood. Done properly, PPG provides the very best protection from shock hazards for electrical workers. Done incorrectly, PPG precipitates arc-flash events of unimaginable intensity. This technical presentation provides specific guidance on proper methods for installing PPG on all types of HV electrical equipment.
