652 Leadership Skills: Volunteers Leading Volunteers

Instructor: Jeffery C. Camplin, CSP, CPEA, Camplin Environmental Services, Inc., Rosemont, IL

Description: This session will explore leadership skills required for ASSE members who take on leadership positions within the Society including chapters, regions and society roles. Emphasis is placed on skill sets necessary for volunteer leaders to successfully lead other volunteers. These skills include mutual respect, trust and sense of obligation between leader and member. These skills will improve a volunteer leader’s ability to lead through influence. These skills will also be valuable for the safety professional who must influence members of their organization to whom they do not have direct authority over and must rely on their leadership skills to influence in order to promote safety.
