Description: Sponsored by the Engineering and Service Branch of the Management Practice Specialties
The estimated 21 million workers in the wholesale and retail trade (WRT) sector had approximately 843,000 workers injured in 2005. The sector has one of the most diverse workforces: young, old, full-time, part-time, experienced and inexperienced workers. The sub-sectors workplaces include mail-order houses, small mom and pop stores, all the way up to large retail store chains. This session will discuss some of the unique safety issues, recent surveillance data, strategic goals and design solutions.
