754 Working Safely Goes Against Human Nature

Instructor: Elisa M. Kletter, Allied Safety Associates, West Columbia, SC

Description: Humans repeat behaviors that maximize rewards. Working unsafely is usually easier, faster and less of a hassle, whereas, working safely is usually harder and longer. Oftentimes working safely goes against human nature. Strategies that counteract human nature by encouraging safe behavior and discouraging unsafe behavior will be presented.
