Description: Offshore Petroleum Industry Training Organization (OPITO) was tasked after the PIPER ALPHA disaster to be the governance for the Offshore Safety Standards for anyone working in the North Sea. These standards have now been globalized and over 500,000 Oilfield workers have been trained on these standards. This presentation will review the processes that are in place to manage the standards and how the industry has adopted these standards in their geographic areas.
